Full Job Description
Would you thrive working independently in a community setting in East Surrey with a team of other Occupational Therapists in Surrey and Borders assessing for rare dementias and young onset dementia and contributing to service improvement?
In this role you will lead and deliver a Young Onset Dementia Service in Surrey with support from a wider MDT who work in Surrey. You would deliver high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy assessment and interventions for people with suspected neurodegenerative disorders and those with confirmed young onset dementia.
This includes working autonomously & managing a complex caseload, leading and networking to create links with the local community services, contributing to service development, research, quality improvements and transformation initiatives.
You would be required to work flexibly across this area but with a focus day to day on East Surrey. You will have regular access to Occupational Therapy specific supervision, support, networking and development opportunities.
Part time hours : Tuesday to Thursday (but negotiable), To undertake evidence based projects, including recommendations for change in practice and to lead where appropriate in service evaluation/research.To promote the role of Occupational Therapy within the wider Multi-Disciplinary Team. To be engage in the development, training and professional supervision of staff within the specialty.To contribute to the work of the professional OT leadership team and YOD team and to represent the profession within and beyond the trust as appropriate.To network with the local community groups in East Surrey in order to develop the YOD service and identify support services for service users. To contribute to the development and implementation of appropriate policies, protocols and care pathways.To contribute to initiatives to ensure that the needs of people with protected characteristics are addressed within local services and future developments.To collate, analyse and report on the effectiveness of the service using appropriate outcome measures.
