Full Job Description

Woking Community Mental Health Recovery Service (CMHRS) has an opportunity for a part time Assistant Psychologist. Please note this is a fixed-term for 12 months.We are looking for an individual with therapeutic experience of workingwithin mental health services, who is also a team player and able to workeffectively within a multidisciplinary team setting.

The CMHRS supports adults aged 18 years and over with complex, severe, and enduring mental health difficulties. We are a multidisciplinary team comprising psychologists, nurses, and psychiatrists, with care underpinned by recovery oriented principles and philosophy.

The Assistant Psychologist role supports a range of key clinical functions,including the delivery of CBT-based group interventions and one-to-one low intensity psychological interventions. The post holder will support the wider psychology pathway and contribute to timely patient care.

The successful applicant will attend and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and locality psychology meetings and will have opportunities to connect with other Assistant Psychologists across the Trust.

Subject to reasonable adjustments in respect of any disability, candidates must possess a valid driving licence and be able to drive and have the unrestricted use of a car or motorcycle for work at all times including community based work.

Main duties of the job

Some of the Key Responsibilities are :

To support and enhance the professional psychological care of people who use Woking CMHRS.

To carry out comprehensive assessments, plan implement and evaluate delivery of psychology interventions under the supervision of a psychologist as part of a holistic approach working in a variety of settings.

To cofacilitate psychology groups.

To actively work with people who use services, carers, families and staff in implementing the care plan devised by the psychologist.

To take appropriate and immediate action to keep people safe in a crisis or safeguarding situation, reporting back to a senior colleague in a timely manner.
