Are you a dedicated, empathetic pastoral professional ready to drive student attendance, reduce persistent absence, and strengthen home-school liaison across a vibrant primary school environment? This role offers the chance to make a profound difference to student outcomes across Greater Manchester.

Attendance & Welfare Officer leading attendance tracking, home visits, and safeguarding liaison
Full-time role (Term-Time Only + 1 Week) | September start
Our client is seeking an empathetic yet resilient Attendance & Welfare Officer to manage daily register monitoring and persistent absence interventions from September. Working closely with senior leaders, class teachers, and local authority education welfare officers (EWOs), you will take an active approach to identifying attendance trends and removing barriers to learning.
Key responsibilities include conducting morning registration sweeps, making daily home calls for unexplained absences, leading early intervention meetings with parents, and maintaining accurate attendance logs on Management Information Systems (SIMS or Arbor). Additionally, you will perform home visits for vulnerable pupils, design creative attendance reward frameworks, and prepare legally compliant documentation for statutory local authority panels regarding persistent absence.
Requirements: Prior experience in school attendance, pastoral support, or family liaison; complete confidence using school databases (SIMS/Arbor); exceptional communication, de-escalation, and report-writing skills.
Application To be considered for this Attendance & Welfare Officer position in Manchester starting in September, please forward your CV as soon as possible.
