JOB TITLE: Attendance Support Assistant
SCHOOL: Smithills School
WORKING PATTERN: 32.5 hours per week TERM TIME ONLY
WORKING HOURS: 8.30am - 3.30pm Monday to Friday
CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent Contract
SALARY: Grade C Pt 4 - 6 £24,404 - £25,183 (full time full year)
Pro rata salary approx. £17,912 - £18,484
CLOSING DATE: 9.00am on Monday 7th July 2025
INTERVIEW DATE: Wednesday 11th July 2025
START DATE: September 2025
THE ROLE:
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and suitably qualified candidate to work alongside the Attendance Manager, Assistant Attendance Officer and key school staff in school to reduce levels of absence and work with children and families to promote high levels of attendance. You will ensure daily attendance registers are accurate and complete and follow up any unexplained absences with parents/carers, escalating issues with as appropriate in line with school procedures.

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to use IT systems, analyse data and create reports. You will be organized, proactive and self-motivated, be able to work well under pressure and create good relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
