Attendance Officer

Walker Riverside Academy is an exciting and thriving secondary school at the heart of its community in Walker, Newcastle Upon Tyne. Walker is an oversubscribed secondary school with 1100 students on roll and this number is predicted to increase over coming years. We help our students to aim high, be proud and love life, in both their academic and career aspirations, supporting them at every step and guiding them upon options available. You will work with students and parents/carers to contribute to improving whole school attendance outcomes, reduce barriers to attendance and persistent absence and raise achievement. The role will involve undertaking home visits, inputting and analysing student attendance data, undertaking administration duties relating to attendance and implementing strategies to improve attendance.

We are looking for a colleague with knowledge of policies and statutory guidance on student attendance, effective communication skills and the ability to work with students, parents/carers and external agencies.

Grade N6 £33,673 - £36,581 per annum actual salary is pro-rata to weeks worked £29,578 - £32,133
