Full Job Description

The role is vital in reducing persistent absence, supporting pupil welfare and ensuring compliance with statutory attendance requirements.

We are looking for a compassionate and resilient individual with strong communication and organisational skills. You will be confident working with families, analysing attendance data and implementing effective interventions to improve attendance. A good understanding of safeguarding, attention to detail and a commitment to supporting young people to achieve their full potential are essential. Experience within a school, attendance, pastoral or welfare setting would be advantageous. We are looking for an organised and proactive individual who takes pride in delivering an excellent service, can manage multiple priorities effectively and maintains a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. You will be committed to helping every child fulfil their potential and to bringing out 'the best in everyone' and playing an active role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils.

  • A diverse, hands-on role at the centre of a dynamic and busy school
  • The opportunity to collaborate closely with staff and pupils across the wider school community
  • A supportive team environment with a clear sense of shared purpose
  • The chance to make a meaningful and visible contribution to the day-to-day operation of the school
  • Accrington Academy is part of United Learning, a growing group of schools whose aim is to provide excellent education to children and young people across the country. We are committed to ensuring our employees feel valued, supported and rewarded. As part of United Learning, we offer opportunities and a benefits package beyond that of an individual school. We're proud to offer 'more pay, more time, and more support'. We offer the best pay in the sector, three extra INSET days dedicated to planning and professional development, one paid personal leave day each year during term time. We place a high priority on developing our staff. Every employee benefits from a supportive annual review process with a tailored programme of personal development. We also facilitate a wide range of professional networks, enabling colleagues to collaborate, share best practice and learn from colleagues in similar roles.
