Role Overview

KT Healthcare is a family-run organisation providing assessment and therapeutic services across the Neurodevelopmental, Brain Injury and Complex Care sectors. Our team of clinicians work on a sub-contracting basis - they are highly specialist and deliver high-quality assessments, reports, and therapy sessions within a multidisciplinary team.

We're looking for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to support a 35-year-old client with an acquired brain injury. The client continues to present with a cognitive-communication disorder and difficulties with social communication. The role will involve completing a comprehensive assessment to identify the nature and impact of these difficulties and developing appropriate intervention and practical strategies to optimise functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments to identify clients' communication difficulties.


• Develop tailored intervention plans and practical strategies.


• Support the client across a range of everyday environments.


• Enhance functional communication in daily life.


• Support social communication and interaction.


• Address cognitive-communication skills.


• Facilitate communication within vocational settings.


• Provide practical strategies to support independence and participation.


• Identify strategies for clients and their support networks to optimise communication.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience in acquired brain injury, cognitive-communication disorders, and social communication difficulties.


• Experience supporting adults in vocational and community settings is preferred.
