Full Job Description
As an Associate QA Tester, you will support the delivery of high-quality game experiences through structured testing, clear defect reporting, and close collaboration with the development team. You will test gameplay, systems, and player-facing content across supported platforms, while building knowledge of platform compliance, XR testing, and effective quality-assurance practices., 1. Functional Testing: + Execute planned functional testing across gameplay features, systems, user interfaces, and game content. + Identify, reproduce, and clearly report defects, including accurate reproduction steps, evidence, and expected versus actual results. 2. Cross-Platform and XR Testing: + Support testing across supported platforms, identifying platform-specific issues and communicating them clearly to the wider team. + Assist with testing XR functionality and player experiences, ensuring features meet expected quality and usability standards. 3. Compliance and Regression Testing: + Support testing against platform requirements and Technical Requirement Checklist expectations. + Retest resolved defects and perform regression testing to confirm fixes are effective and have not introduced new issues. 4. Collaboration and Development: + Work closely with QA colleagues, producers, designers, and engineers to communicate testing progress, quality risks, and priorities. + Maintain clear test documentation and actively develop knowledge of test planning, coverage, and quality-assurance processes., Based just outside Birmingham, Flix is made up of welcoming, passionate, active gamers that support one another in all aspects of development. - Experience testing games or software, with a strong interest in quality assurance.
- Understanding of defect reporting, test cases, regression testing, and basic test-planning practices.
- Familiarity with cross-platform testing and platform compliance requirements.
- Interest or experience in XR testing and player-experience quality.
- Strong attention to detail, organisation, and ability to follow structured test processes.
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative, proactive approach to learning and improving product quality.
