Posts are available in the Histopathology Department. This presents an exciting opportunity to be part of an excellent team working in a busy modern teaching hospital laboratory. The department has a workload of around 80 000 surgical requests per year and covers a wide range of routine and specialised services to enable a diagnosis to be identified. The department has recently had a full equipment upgrade, and is working to implementing a fully digital reporting service. The department encourages active professional development and further educational activities This is an excellent opportunity to work with a committed team of office, laboratory and Consultant Pathologist staff.,

  • The successful applicant will work in all areas of the service, on rotation with other staff. This post will provide an excellent opportunity to gain experience in routine histopathology including:
  • Mohs sectioning and frozen section technique.
  • Immunocytochemistry.
  • Specialist section cutting/embedding
  • Category A specimen transfer
