Full Job Description

  • To be able to rotate through all areas of the Laboratories as required (Dependent on qualifications, experience and training), to perform all designated duties in accordance with local working practices, to maintain high Professional standards and conform to Health and Safety regulations.
  • To perform Biomedical investigations, within operating procedures and protocols, to provide within agreed quality standards of service delivery and turnaround times under the supervision of senior grade BMS grade staff.
  • To continue with personal development through academic or practical experience.
  • To provide professional leadership and supervise Trainee BMS and Medical Laboratory Assistants.

    Launched in 2014, the Christie Pathology Partnership (CPP) is a joint venture between SYNLAB and The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. We operate from within on-site pathology laboratories and serve a population of more than 3.2 million.
  • The Christie Pathology Partnership delivers a high quality, responsive pathology diagnostic service to The Christie and other healthcare providers regionally and nationally. An international leader in research, The Christie is the largest single site specialist cancer centre in Europe. Our laboratories also provide testing, screening and assay development to support The Christie's early phase clinical trials, with around 200 trials underway at any one time.

    The role will be Monday to Friday, with working hours from 10:30am to 7:00pm, with an expectation to provide evening cover for Pathology Reception duties. Once competency has been achieved within Blood Sciences, there may also be a requirement to support weekend services.
