Kennedys is looking for an Senior Associate to join our highly regarded Healthcare team in Birmingham, working on employer's liability and public liability matters for NHS Resolution. This is an exciting opportunity for a lawyer with EL/PL litigation experience to develop their career within one of the UK's leading healthcare legal teams. You'll work on a wide range of fast-track and multi-track claims, support key NHS and healthcare clients, and gain exposure to complex, sensitive and high-profile matters. Team Kennedys' Healthcare division provides specialist legal services to NHS Resolution, NHS Trusts, medical malpractice insurers, independent hospital groups, clinics and healthcare practitioners. The team is known for handling high-stakes, sensitive claims involving complex legal, medical and factual issues. We advise clients on medical malpractice, coverage, health law, regulatory matters, inquests and judicial reviews. With teams across London, Cambridge, Sheffield, Birmingham, Newcastle and international offices, we offer clients local knowledge backed by national and global expertise. Clients You will work with a broad healthcare client base, including:

  • NHS Resolution
  • NHS healthcare clients
  • Independent hospital groups
  • Clinics and practitioners
  • Medical malpractice insurers
  • Cases You will manage and support on a varied caseload of EL/PL healthcare claims, including:
  • Fast-track and multi-track claims
  • Employer's liability matters
  • Public liability claims
  • Claims involving NHS organisations and healthcare environments
  • Cases requiring strong litigation strategy, evidence analysis and client reporting

    8-10+ years' PQE with relevant experience
  • Good knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules
  • Litigation experience in EL/PL
  • Experience managing their own caseload
  • Strong drafting, analytical and communication skills
  • A practical, client-focused approach
  • Confidence working with supervision on complex matters
