Full Job Description

You're an Associate Fire Risk Consultant who wants to take a leading role-not just in delivery, but in shaping how fire risk services are developed and delivered. At Stantec, you'll join a growing Fire Risk Management team in a senior, client-facing position with real influence. You'll work across a varied portfolio of buildings and sectors, within a multidisciplinary environment that brings together building, engineering and design expertise-giving you the platform to deliver practical advice, build long-term client relationships, and help grow a high-performing team., You will lead the delivery of fire risk consultancy services across a broad client base, taking ownership of technical quality, programme, and client outcomes. This includes carrying out and reviewing fire risk assessments, ensuring outputs are consistent, proportionate, and aligned with evolving regulatory requirements. You'll oversee more complex instructions, providing technical review and direction while maintaining high standards across reporting and client communication. Alongside delivery, you'll support the development of the team-mentoring consultants, guiding technical work, and contributing to team planning and capability. You will also work closely with colleagues across the business on multidisciplinary bids and projects, helping to strengthen how fire risk services are integrated and delivered. Building and maintaining client relationships will be a key part of your role, supporting long-term growth and repeat work. YOUR IMPACT You'll help clients navigate complex fire safety challenges, supporting them to understand their responsibilities, prioritise action, and make informed decisions about risk in occupied buildings. Your work will directly contribute to safer environments and increased confidence in how risks are managed. Internally, your impact will extend to raising technical standards, developing people, and strengthening the team's capability. At this level, your role goes beyond delivery-you'll contribute to shaping the team's direction, supporting growth, and ensuring consistent, high-quality service across the business.

  • Strong experience delivering fire risk assessments across a range of building types and risk profiles
  • Confident reviewing technical outputs and providing clear direction to others
  • Experience mentoring or developing consultants and supporting team capability
  • Experience managing or overseeing complex instructions
  • Interested in building client relationships and contributing to business development
