Join us as an Associate Engineer and become part of one of the UK's leaders in temporary works design and management and construction-related technical services. You'll play a key leadership role within our 100-strong team, delivering hundreds of projects across one of the most diverse and high-profile portfolios in the country, with access to Kier's £11bn+ project pipeline - supporting complex construction and major infrastructure schemes from concept through to delivery., Overseeing the day-to-day activity of a local team of 8-16 technical staff, supporting a Regional Engineering Manager to lead a wider regional team of 30+ and the Head of Construction Engineering to lead a nationwide team of 100+. Leading the delivery of our most complex and/or high-value projects, whilst supporting Principal and Senior Engineers to lead the delivery of a broad range of services including some or all of: temporary works design and checking, reviewing permanent designs for compliance and buildability, supporting tenders and preconstruction planning, and providing technical support to overcome construction-stage and post-construction issues and defects.,

  • Local team leadership, contributing to leadership of wider regional and national team, developing yourself and others, leading the continuous improvement of processes and systems, enabling the business to adapt to current and future challenges
  • Acting as Project Lead for our most complex and/or high-value projects, managing technical scope, programme, budget and relationships with preconstruction and construction teams, from bid through to delivery
  • Producing, checking and reviewing design outputs such as calculations, sketches, drawings, 3D models, reports and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with CDM, SHE procedures and QA processes

  • Practically-minded, with a strong grounding in civil, structural and/or geotechnical engineering principles and knowledge of applicable design standards?

  • Have experience of temporary works design and/or management, or other practical construction experience?
