Full Job Description
This role is responsible for supporting the delivery of the product governance and risk management agenda, ensuring robust governance frameworks, effective risk oversight and a strong control environment. The successful candidate will provide independent challenge and oversight of product development, drive consistency in the application of governance standards, and oversee the management and remediation of key risk and control issues. They will work closely with senior stakeholders across the business to identify emerging risks, strengthen controls, and ensure compliance with regulatory and Group requirements.,
- Manage CSG's critical governance meetings, including risk committees and product governance forums, ensuring robust first line risk management.
- Support senior executives with governance preparation, management information, briefing materials and reporting.
- Design, develop and maintain governance frameworks, standards and supporting documentation, ensuring consistent application across CSG.
- Oversee CSG's product governance practices, ensuring effective management of product-related risks, decisions and change activity.
- Provide first line risk partnership, challenge and oversight to CSG teams to ensure that risks are appropriately identified, assessed and mitigated.
- Conduct deep-dive reviews and risk assessments to pro-actively manage risks, captured through our end-to-end operational risk management system.
- Coordinate and oversee risk remediation programmes to address control weaknesses and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the resolution of complex cross-business risk and control issues arising from audits, regulatory reviews and second and third-line assurance activity.
- Provide expert guidance on governance matters including Powers of Attorney, Material Risk Taker requirements and Delegated Authority frameworks. What we're looking for
- Product Governance - Sound comprehension of product management risks, regulations and frameworks across the end-to-end product lifecycle.
- Risk Management - Extensive experience of Risk Management Frameworks and non-financial risk management disciplines. Able to provide oversight and challenge across risk identification, control effectiveness, issue remediation and risk reporting, supporting a robust and well-governed control environment.
- Commercial Awareness - Strong knowledge of how a large commercial bank operates, the range of products it sells, the nature of the clients it serves, and the financial and non-financial risks it generates through the course of business.
- Data, Technology and AI - Comfortable with using data, analytics and AI to generate insight, identify emerging risks, improve decision-making, automate processes and enhance customer and business outcomes.
Extensive stakeholder relationship-building, strong risk management expertise and the ability to influence at senior levels are essential skills to delivering effective governance and sustainable risk outcomes across CSG and the wider organisation. This role will be a catalyst for driving accountability and continuous improvement within governance and risk management practices., Problem solving - Ability to identify emerging issues, identify root causes, assess risks and impacts, design practical solutions and drive sustainable remediation. - Stakeholder management and influencing - Natural relationship builder who can lead cross-departmental projects, facilitate discussions, drive colleague engagement and challenge senior leaders.
- Professionalism- A highly organised and trustworthy individual, capable of managing confidential matters and resolving complex issues with confidence. Comfortable multitasking across a broad range of activities, adapting quickly to changing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Natural curiosity - Demonstrated eagerness to learn, explore problems, challenge ways of working, and think strategically to make connections to the bigger picture.
- Communication - Able to confidently and diplomatically communicate complex subjects in a clear and simple manner for senior leaders, committees, auditors and colleagues. Strong written and oral skills across various mediums.
- Analytical thinking - Adept at analysing disparate and sometimes limited data, interpreting complex information to identify key themes and emerging risks. Applies risk-based judgement to form balanced recommendations to leadership.
