Full Job Description
Associate Director of Digital, Space & Sustainability Queen Mary University of London This is a rare opportunity to sit at the intersection of digital transformation, space strategy, and sustainability three of the most critical drivers of modern higher education. You will lead the development and delivery of integrated strategies across:
- Digital transformation: enabling a smarter, more connected estate.
- Space: ensuring space is flexible, inclusive, data-informed, and fit for the future.
- Sustainability and net zero delivery: embedding environmental responsibility into every aspect of how we design, use, and manage space. What you'll be doing
- Leading cross-university programmes that integrate digital, space, and sustainability.
- Driving data-informed decision-making around estate utilisation and investment.
- Shaping our roadmap to net zero in relation to buildings, infrastructure, and operations.
- Translating long-term strategies into practical, measurable delivery plans.
- Building strong partnerships across academic and professional services teams.
- Influencing senior stakeholders and governance boards with clarity and confidence.
You will likely bring: - Senior leadership experience in digital transformation, space and sustainability.
- A strong track record of delivering large-scale, cross-functional change.
- The ability to connect strategic vision with operational reality.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to inspire diverse stakeholders.
- A collaborative, systems-thinking mindset. Experience in higher education is welcome but not essential, what matters most is your ability to think boldly, deliver effectively, and bring people with you. Why join us? You'll be working in an environment that values innovation, public impact, and long-term thinking, with the opportunity to leave a visible legacy across digital systems, physical spaces, and environmental performance.
