Associate Director, ITRG, Enterprise Technology Agility

You will work with outstanding talent across disciplines to help clients define where they need to go and how to get there. You will combine strategic thinking, architectural rigour and practical delivery judgement. You will help clients solve hard problems across technology, data, operations and organisational design. You will also help us grow our practice by building trusted relationships, developing distinctive propositions and leading work in the market. As an Associate Director in our team, you will have the opportunity to:

• Lead major technology strategy and transformation engagements for clients across infrastructure, transport, regional government and adjacent public service sectors
• Shape client agendas at a senior level, working with executives to define ambition, clarify priorities and translate strategy into practical action
• Help grow our business in priority markets including rail transformation, city-region and place-based transformation, transport technology, education and skills, and energy transition and sustainability
• Develop compelling transformation strategies, target operating models, road maps, investment cases and mobilisation plans
• Architect change across business, technology, data and service design, ensuring solutions are ambitious, coherent and implementable.
• Lead complex diagnostic and discovery work, drawing insight from stakeholders, data, operational realities and wider system pressures.
• Advise on the role of digital platforms, enterprise applications, data, AI, automation and modern architecture in delivering better organisational and public outcomes.
• Bring together strategy, design and delivery, ensuring that ideas are not only credible on paper but capable of being delivered in practice.
• Build deep and trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, acting as a strategic advisor and visible leader in the market.
• Lead and develop high performing multidisciplinary teams. Creating an environment where people can do their best work and grow quickly.
• Drive proposition development, thought leadership, bids and account growth across the sector.
• Mentor and coach colleagues, helping build the next generation of leaders in the team.
  
  We are specifically looking for candidates with strong strategic, commercial and delivery focused experience, who can articulate the outcomes and value of their work, and have working experience in some or all of the following:
• Proven experience in technology strategy, digital transformation, enterprise transformation, operating model design or similar role, with a strong track record of leading complex work.
• Experience of shaping, selling and growing work in consulting, industry or the public sector.
• Strong client leadership skills, with the ability to engage, influence and challenge senior stakeholders with credibility.
• The ability to move confidently between strategy, design and delivery, from vision-setting and problem framing through to mobilisation and execution.
• Strong systems thinking, with the ability to connect organisation, process, technology, data governance and people into a coherent transformation approach.
• Experience developing target operating models, transformation roadmaps, business cases, investment priorities or enterprise-wide change strategies.
• Understanding of the role that enterprise platforms, digital architecture, data and AI can play in improving organisational performance and service outcomes.
• Experience working in one or more of the following industries is strongly desirable: rail, transport, infrastructure, local or regional government, wider public services, education and skills or energy transition.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to synthesise complex issues into clear and compelling messages.
• Strong facilitation skills, including experience leading workshops, executive discussions and multi-stakeholder problem solving sessions.
• Experience leading teams in challenging, fast-moving environments, including balancing strategic ambition with delivery realism.
• Experience of proposition development, bids and go-to-market activity.
• Ability to coach and develop others, creating followership and building capability in the team.
• Experience of working within the Public Sector or a similarly complex, regulated or politically aware environment is desirable.
