Full Job Description
As an Associate Director within our Life Sciences Operations and Industry Solutions team, you will be a pivotal leader responsible for driving strategic client engagements and fostering the growth of our practice. You will leverage your industry expertise and transformation experience to deliver innovative solutions to help clients innovate and transform their business models and core operations. Your role will be crucial in ensuring project success, developing our people and expanding our market presence. Our projects vary greatly and your responsibility as an Associate Director will differ based on the focus of the client engagement and your skillset, opportunities within the role include:
- Leading teams in providing strategic and operational advice to Life Sciences clients, establishing clear priorities and direction in conjunction with their business objectives. This includes leveraging your influence to cultivate a broad and diverse network of internal and external stakeholders, creating opportunities and solving problems effectively.
- Providing guidance on operating models and technologies, collaborating with internal teams and clients to establish robust technology strategy and implementation roadmaps.
- Leading technology-enabled transformation programmes and projects with expertise within the Life Sciences sector. Taking Project Delivery ownership, effectively managing risks, budgets, and client expectations to ensure high-quality, on-time and on-budget results.
- Leading diverse teams to deliver measurable business outcomes to quality and timescales, always looking for ways to improve processes and implement best practices.
- Utilising experience with transformation projects to support complex transformation agendas and roadmaps with clients, demonstrating strategic thinking to tackle complex business challenges and guiding teams to innovative solutions.
- Building effective client relationships with peer-level stakeholders across all business and technical domains, including IT, Operations, and Risk.
- Supporting the definition and implementation of accelerators and standards, promoting adherence to these within internal and external programmes and projects. Participating within Deloitte to assist the growth of the practice and the Operations & Industry Domain Solutions division, including supporting the firm's commitment to creating a more diverse and inclusive culture.
- Coaching and mentoring team members, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and reach their full potential.
- Leading the development of new approaches, tools, and services that enhance Deloitte's offerings and differentiate us in the marketplace.
- Seamlessly collaborating with colleagues and clients worldwide, recognising and leveraging diverse perspectives to deliver exceptional results.
We are looking for people to join our team who embrace change and have a passion for the Life Sciences industry and for driving transformation., In addition to a keen interest in Life Sciences and a strong work ethic, we are also looking for the following: - Direct experience within the Life Sciences sector through consulting or industry roles, with a strong understanding of industry challenges, operating models, regulatory environments, and market dynamics.
- Experience delivering technology-enabled transformation programmes.
- Demonstrated ability to support and guide technology and business stakeholders through the transformation delivery lifecycle.
- Strong experience advising senior stakeholders on strategic and operational priorities, helping define transformation roadmaps and ensuring successful delivery outcomes.
- Proven stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across business and technical functions, including IT, Operations, Risk, and senior leadership teams.
- Experience managing or supporting delivery teams to achieve successful project outcomes through effective planning, progress monitoring, risk mitigation and issue resolution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly understand complex business challenges, interpret data, and draw logical conclusions.
- Experience working across both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to structure insights clearly and present recommendations in a compelling and concise manner.
- Experience working within complex digital transformation programmes in Operations, Technology, or Transformation environments.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and contribute effectively in fast-paced, evolving project environments. Desirables:
- Experience leading or mentoring junior team members within transformation or consulting environments.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to Life Sciences and digital transformation.
- Experience contributing to business development activities, strategic proposals, or innovation initiatives.
- Understanding of governance, delivery standards, and quality assurance processes within transformation programmes.
- Professional certifications in project delivery, Agile methodologies, Six Sigma, or related disciplines.
