The wider practice also advises major insurers and corporate clients on catastrophic injury and large loss (CILL) claims, including matters arising from workplace incidents, sexual assault, harassment, and stress-related claims. Candidates with defendant insurance or large loss experience are therefore encouraged to apply. We offer a supportive team environment and a hybrid working model, with two days per week in the Manchester office and three days working from home.,

  • Attending conferences, trials, and various forms of ADR, including conducting negotiations.
  • Keeping up to date with relevant legal and industry developments.
  • Supporting client relationship development, including participation in training and networking activities.

Proven experience managing a caseload of claims involving police/public authorities and/or large loss EL/PL matters, including liability assessment.
  • Experience within a defendant practice, ideally in police law, public authority, or large loss teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional and confident communicator, able to build strong internal and external relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
