Full Job Description

New Line Learning Academy is seeking to appoint an exceptional Associate Assistant Headteacher - SENDCo to join our Senior Leadership Team on a permanent basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and passionate leader to shape and drive our vision for inclusion, ensuring that every student with SEND receives the support, challenge and opportunities they need to thrive. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will lead the strategic development and day-to-day management of SEND provision across the Academy, playing a pivotal role in improving outcomes, wellbeing and aspirations for our students.

The school is implementing an innovative new curriculum model from September 2026, designed to be ambitious, inclusive and responsive to the diverse needs of all learners. Across Key Stages 3 and 4, students will follow personalised pathways that maintain access to a broad and balanced curriculum while providing targeted support for those with SEND, literacy, numeracy and SEMH needs. The model places a strong emphasis on inclusion, equity and high aspirations, ensuring that all students can access appropriate interventions, therapeutic support and personalised learning opportunities. This strategic development aligns closely with emerging SEND reforms and reflects the school's commitment to improving outcomes, engagement and successful preparation for adulthood and the AAHT SENDCo will be pivotal in driving this change.

We are looking for an inspirational practitioner with a strong commitment to inclusive education and a proven ability to secure positive outcomes for young people with SEND. You will provide professional leadership and guidance to colleagues, promote high-quality teaching and learning, and ensure resources are deployed effectively to meet the needs of all learners. The role includes overseeing the identification, tracking and monitoring of SEND students, implementing effective interventions, and working closely with external agencies, families and staff to deliver exceptional support.

You will also lead and develop a dedicated team of experienced Teaching Assistants, fostering a collaborative culture that places student success at the heart of everything we do.

Whether you are an experienced SENDCo looking for your next leadership challenge or an aspiring senior leader seeking to broaden your strategic impact, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to whole-school improvement while developing your own leadership journey.

The SENDCo currently does not have a teaching commitment, focusing instead on leadership and intervention delivery. However, a teaching allocation could be considered for the right candidate.

We are looking for someone who:

· Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

· Has recent and relevant teaching experience

· Is an outstanding classroom practitioner with the ability to inspire and motivate students

· Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or is working towards the qualification (or has equivalent experience)

· Has a strong understanding of SEND legislation, the SEND Code of Practice and statutory guidance

· Demonstrates experience of working effectively with external agencies and stakeholders

· Possesses excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills

· Is committed to achieving the very best outcomes for every student

If you are looking to join a supportive, ambitious and student-centred school where you can make a lasting difference to the lives of young people, we would be delighted to hear from you.
