We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Team Manager to join our evolving Community Occupational Therapy Team. This is your chance to play a key role in shaping and developing Occupational Therapy services, influencing practice, and making a real difference to the lives of Solihull residents. About the Team Based at The Bluebell Centre and located in Chelmsley Wood, our Community Occupational Therapy Team supports people of all ages to remain safe, independent, and connected within their own homes and communities. The team works closely with individuals, families, carers and partner organisations, delivering strengths-based assessments and interventions that focus on what matters most to people. This includes:
- Moving and handling assessments
- Provision of equipment and assistive technology
- Recommendations for minor and major adaptations
- Technology Enabled Care solutions
- Promoting independence through a least restrictive and person-centred approach Our vision is simple: to support people to live as independently as possible, for as long as possible. About the Role As an Assistant Team Manager, you will provide day-to-day leadership, support and supervision to a team of Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants. Working alongside the Principal Occupational Therapist/Team Manager and fellow Assistant Team Managers, you will help ensure the delivery of a high-quality, responsive and outcome-focused service. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing professional supervision, support and performance management
- Supporting staff development, wellbeing and learning
- Overseeing case allocation and workflow management
- Monitoring and promoting high-quality, strengths-based practice
- Leading service improvements and contributing to innovation
- Supporting operational decision-making and service delivery
- Ensuring statutory responsibilities are met effectively and consistently
- Working collaboratively across health, social care and partner organisations This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys supporting others, driving improvement and leading practice excellence.
- Diploma, BSc, or equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Substantial post-qualification experience within Occupational Therapy services.
- Experience of supervising, supporting or developing staff, or acting as a Practice Placement Educator. The demands of the job mean that you need to hold a driving licence and own your own vehicle. For disabled applicants, reasonable adjustments will be made where required., This post will require an enhanced DBS check. This post is covered by the Fluency Duty, as outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers.
