Full Job Description

As an Assistant Support Services Officer, you will act as premises responsible person and be accountable for the day-to-day operation of specific building(s) and the management of the Property Assistants within that building. You will provide an efficient and effective Facilities Management service to ensure the building(s) are operated in accordance with service needs, corporate standards, best practice and statutory requirements. The role will provide a key link between building users and the wider strategic FM Team.
WHAT IS INVOLVED?
You will take on the role of Premises Responsible Person, overseeing the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of designated premises and associated site areas.

You will ensure that all relevant procedures are properly implemented, consistently followed, and accurately recorded. A proactive approach is essential, as you will be expected to identify, resolve, and report any compliance or premises-related issues to maintain clean, safe, and fully health-and-safety-compliant environments across council sites.

In addition, you will act as a designated First Aider, providing first aid support within the workplace when required.

You will need an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification and/or experience of working in a property/facilities management environment. You will need to be First Aid trained (or ability to work towards) and demonstrated experience in managing a broad range of facilities services. You will also need to have experience of managing/supervising employees.

We offer a competitive rewards package that includes attractive salaries, a generous annual leave entitlement of 27 days (rising to 32 after five years' continuous local government service), membership of the excellent contributory career average Local Government Pension Scheme, and a range of flexible working arrangements including hybrid working (home and office) where applicable.
