Full Job Description

Bacon's has long been an important part of the fabric of the local community in South East London and has served the community in its various forms for over three hundred years. We are proud of that history and determined to meet the needs of students today and tomorrow. The school joined United Learning in 2018 and has gone from strength to strength since. Bacon's is a thriving community that is welcoming of students of all faiths and those of none. Staff and students value the distinctive nature of its Christian ethos to which every member of our community contributes. Our values are courage, compassion, respect, faith and integrity. We are fortunate to offer fantastic media, DT and IT facilities and excellent sporting provision. Learning is at the heart of everything we do. Part of our mission statement is that 'students are exhorted to achieve academic and personal excellence'. We have the highest aspirations for our students, determined that anyone can achieve highly and overcome any barriers that may lie in their path. We do not apologise for insisting that all students behave well and work hard. Bacon's achievements were recognised by Ofsted in June 2022 when we received a grading of 'Good' overall and in every area. In 2025 we enjoyed strong GCSE outcomes with 52% of students achieving grade 5+ in English and Maths. Our VI form results were excellent with 65% of A Level grades at A
