We're looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team, supporting the delivery of a busy water metering framework for Northumbrian Water.
You will work alongside experienced commercial and operational teams, helping to manage the financial performance of projects from mobilisation through to final account. You'll gain hands-on experience across cost management, procurement, valuations, contract administration, forecasting and commercial reporting while developing your skills within a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:Support cost planning, budgeting and financial reporting across multiple projectsAssist with Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs) and cost forecastingMonitor project costs against agreed budgets and framework ratesObtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotationsAssist with subcontract administration, payment notices and valuationsHelp prepare applications for payment and interim and final valuationsMaintain accurate commercial records, contracts, variations and correspondenceWork with compliance, operational and accounts teams to resolve commercial queriesAttend site visits when required to monitor project progressBuild positive working relationships with colleagues, subcontractors and client representatives

The PersonTo be successful as our Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll have:
2-3 years' experience in an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or similar commercial roleKnowledge of NEC contracts (JCT knowledge is advantageous)Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skillsStrong numerical, analytical and organisational skillsExcellent attention to detail and a methodical approachGood communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationshipsA proactive attitude with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesA full UK driving licence
