Full Job Description
- Supporting and delivery of QS services within our residential team (social housing) - fee earning projects
- Support, develop and improve the professional and interpersonal skills of the team
- Ensure staff are aware of, and are delivering, their responsibilities
- Ensure clients always receive an exemplary level of service and performance from yourself and the team
- Always represent the company in a professional and confident manner
- Full commercial contract administration from tender to final account.
- Procurement and negotiation process associated to a project and subsequent supply chain management.
- Production of cost and value reconciliations along with the forecasting on a monthly basis for all projects.
- Manage the Risk and Opportunity processes, ensuring mitigation measures are identified and implemented at the correct time to benefit the project.
- Work individually or as part of a team to deliver the client deliverables.
- Client office and site visits will be required within role.
- Potential to work on multiple contracts at any one time, with potentially different clients.
- Ensure that the company standards are adhered to on all works undertaken.
- Ensure the successful delivery of contracts you are dealing with, in a timely manner and to the highest standards.
Experience within Social Housing sector. - Suitable experience of undertaking QS duties
- Be able to make informed decisions for the benefit of our clients
- Commercial negotiation skills in a Quantity Surveying setting
- Energetic, self-motivated and able to take a flexible and adaptable approach
- Understanding of contract (JCT suite / NEC)
- Well organised and able to plan effectively.
- Possess clear and concise communication skills - written and spoken
- Able to produce both summarised and detailed reports
- IT literate, especially in terms of Microsoft Office/Excel, Degree qualified (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying or similar technical discipline
- Working towards Chartered status (Preferably)
- A team player, outgoing, flexible, enthusiastic and ambitious
- Likeable and warm personality which will fit in and become an integral part of the team
- A track record of working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering deadlines
