Full Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for two Assistant Psychologists to join our inpatient service at Austen House.
Austen House accommodates both a seven bedded Low Secure Service and a seven bedded Psychiatric Intensive Care Service. Both of which sit alongside well-established Medium Secure and General Adolescent Units at Bluebird House and Serenity Path, respectively. The role will involve being based either on the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit or Low Secure Unit, but will require flexible working across the units, according to clinical need.
The post-holder will work alongside other psychological therapy colleagues and a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team. The purpose of the role is to contribute to the provision of a psychological therapies service to young people, their families, and carers. In addition to the delivery of therapeutic work, the role will involve contributing to the promotion of a psychologically informed environment and working with staff teams supporting highly complex cases., The post-holder will work alongside other psychological therapy colleagues and a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team. The purpose of the role is to contribute to the provision of a psychological therapies service to young people, their families, and carers. In addition to the delivery of therapeutic work, the role will involve contributing to the promotion of a psychologically informed environment and working with staff teams supporting highly complex cases. With appropriate support and supervision, the post-holder will offer consultation on relevant aspects of the needs and care of young people and the systems around them to contribute to formulations and management plans of a young person's needs and risk. The post also offers opportunities to contribute to training and workforce development and to use research skills for audit, policy, and service.
We require Assistant Psychologists who have experience working within mental health settings as this is a higher banding AP post.
