Assistant Psychologist

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated part-time Assistant Psychologist to join the Cleft Team within the Psychological Medicine for Children, Young People and Families Service. This post provides a unique opportunity to work within a large team of Clinical Psychologists (and other related professions). The post holder will have access to a diverse range of CPD and supervision opportunities, including group systemic supervision. The post holder will: support psychological assessment and intervention under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist; will be involved in the development and facilitation of group interventions for children, young people and their families; will undertake audits and data collection Including input and analysis where appropriate; work creatively to develop resources for use within clinical work with children and young people. The ideal candidate will have a strong team work ethic, sense of accountability, accompanied by an ability to work under considerable pressure and within highly emotive environments at times. They will need to be able to use their own initiative and work reliably and consistently under supervision. • Assist with submission for Q4 SSQD (Specialised Services Quality Dashboard) on figures relating to number of patients born with cleft, lip and palate having been screened for psycho-social issues at least once F2F by a member of the cleft clinical psychology team before their 6th birthday.
• Assist with mandated data collection across the year and the submission for Crane (The Cleft Registry and Audit Network) annual submission
• Helps complete and coordinates the Cleft Q mandated psychological functioning questionnaire with 10 year olds presenting to multidisciplinary clinics-has to be submitted to CRANE for each birth cohort.
• Facilitates and is the main clinician under supervision in the mandated psychology clinical audit clinic for all 5-year-old children both with a Cleft Lip and palate across the region.
• Helps with the organization of the clinically focussed nursing/psychology led antenatal and postnatal clinics and joins with them alongside a clinical psychologist.
• Collects the Orthognathic protocol pre and post measures and keeps a record of them-this is also collected by all regional teams across the nation.
