Assistant Project Manager

The Assistant Project Manager, will work across the Division and Directorates to: · Lead and deliver projects and service improvement programmes that support organisational objectives. · Manage projects from initiation through to implementation and evaluation, ensuring delivery within agreed timescales, budgets, and quality standards. · Support the delivery of Cost Improvement Programmes (CIPs) from identification through to, assessment, planning, track, and ultimately delivery. · Provide structured programme management support to improve grip, pacing, and delivery confidence.Main duties of the job · To support and guide the Division in the management of projects including the delivery of CIPs. Ensure that the Divisional Management Team has the right information and knowledge at the right time to exercise authority properly. · Identify opportunities for service improvement and efficiency. · Apply recognised project management and improvement methodologies to deliver sustainable change. · Support the implementation of new ways of working and ensure benefits are realised. · Contribute to organisational transformation programmes and strategic objectives. · Ensure robust governance arrangements are in place so that quality, safety, and patient experience are not compromised., · To support and guide the Division in the management of projects including the delivery of CIPs. Project Management · Support projects including service redesign, capital purchases, refurbishments, redevelopment, and new builds, in accordance with the Trust's project management policies, procedures and processes. · Establish and support managing an effective project team to include user representatives. · Develop a Project Initiation Document and detailed project plans to ensure delivery of the project to agreed budget, programme, scope, and quality standards, taking account of interdependencies between projects. Monitor and update the plans on a regular basis. · Support and manage to ensure the successful delivery of the projects within an acute hospital environment, managing conflicting demands, whilst minimising any potential disruption or disturbance to patients, staff, or other visitors. · Ensure that all aspects of the projects are managed based on best practice, promoting sustainability, and working towards enhancing patient care and experience. · Responsible for ensuring the correct governance procedures are adhered to. Reporting · Produce regular reports. · Report monthly (including Highlight Report, Exception Report, Risk Log etc) as required by the Divisional Efficiency, Productivity & Cost Improvement (EPCIP) Board and provide other updates as required by the Divisional Management Team. . Scheduling / Programme · Develop, monitor and keep up to date an overall programme / schedule for the project to ensure that the project is delivered to the agreed timescale, taking account of any dependencies, and checking for any changes to the critical path. Scope and Change Control · Establish and implement robust project monitoring and change control systems, ensuring that all proposed changes are logged, and decisions recorded. Business case and design development · Work with the Divisional Management and clinical/operational services in developing the project from initial scoping to Project Initiation Document and where required, support the development of Outline Business Case and Full Business Case, including undertaking options appraisals and feasibility studies for preferred options., The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
