Full Job Description
The English department is a strong and forward-thinking team. Together, the team aims to create an excellent learning environment and embraces innovative teaching strategies to inspire children.
Presently, the department consists of seven teachers who teach across the ability and age range. Within the department there is a second in department and a teacher with a TLR.
All teachers have their own classrooms and spaces benefit from having a whiteboard/TV which links directly to each teacher's desktop computer. The English department are a creative and reflective team who work collaboratively to ensure that resources and planning is designed to maximise progress.
Children study a range of texts across the Key stages and follow a three-year KS3 curriculum. At KS4, children follow the AQA specification.
The ethos of the team is to foster a love of reading, exploring, and analysing the world through text.
