Full Job Description
The post holder will be based within the Patient Safety Team and be line managed by the Patient Safety Officers. They will be a key member of the Patient Safety Team leading the delivery of incident review and management and the associated administrative processes and procedures. The post holder will be expected to speak directly to patients and relatives and to other healthcare providers and external agencies as required. They will ensure that the statutory duty of candour requirement is met. The post holder will support the site safety huddle and Incident Review Group (IRG) and provide guidance and advice on Patient Safety learning responses in line with PSIRF. The post holder will manage the patient safety support officers and ensure all administrative duties are carried out efficiently and to the highest professional standards, this will include recruiting and training new staff as required.

+ Support the Site Safety Huddle and capture actions accurately
+ Support the Incident Review Group (IRG) and Patient Serious Incident Review Group (PSIRG). This includes preparing meeting agendas, confirming attendees and ensuring all meeting decisions and outcomes are followed up.
+ To provide patient and family support via the Duty of Candour process which will include attending and supporting family meetings
+ To develop, implement and deliver efficient and robust administrative processes to support the work of the Patient Safety Officers.
+ To ensure all relevant policies and procedures are adhered to in the day-to-day working of the Patient Safety Team, for example; information governance, and record keeping.
+ Line management, training and supervision of the Patient Safety Support Officers
+ Communication with patients and relatives, both verbally and in writing, regarding patient safety incidents and Patient Safety learning responses.
+ Ensuring the statutory requirements relating to Duty of Candour are met.
+ To arrange and support meetings with senior members of the Trust, this will include setting agendas, preparing for meetings and taking accurate minutes and updating action logs., Further details regarding the post can be obtained by contacting a Recruiting Manager as per contact details below.
