Previous administrative or customer service experience, together with good IT skills, are essential. Join our dedicated Microbiology team and contribute to a high-quality service that supports patient safety, infection prevention, and the effective delivery of care across the Trust.

- Support the monitoring and reporting of microbiology test results, ensuring information is processed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Manage and maintain departmental databases, spreadsheets, and records in line with Trust policies and information governance requirements.
- Act as a key point of contact for laboratory staff, consultants, clinical teams, and external organisations, responding to enquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Support the coordination and distribution of microbiology reports, clinical correspondence, and other service-related documentation.
- Assist with the monitoring of infection-related data and reporting processes to support patient safety and infection prevention activities across the Trust.
- Use Trust systems to ensure accurate data entry, record management, and information tracking.
- Identify and escalate urgent queries, outstanding actions, and data discrepancies to the appropriate members of the team.
- Support service performance through accurate data validation, audit support, and information management.
- Liaise with wards, departments, laboratories, and external stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and timely sharing of microbiology information.
- Assist with meeting administration, including preparing documentation, taking minutes, and following up on agreed actions where required.
- Work collaboratively within the Microbiology Team to deliver a high-quality, efficient, and responsive service that supports patient safety and the effective management of infection-related information across the Trust
