Full Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Operations Manager to join the team at The Yarrow Hotel to cover maternity leave until August 2027. This is a hands-on role supporting the day-to-day operation our hotel, with responsibility across all departments/ You will work closely with the Operations Manager and wider management team to ensure we deliver excellent guest experiences, strong operational standards and a welcoming environment for both guests and students. We are looking for someone who is confident leading a team, enjoys being visible and hands-on, and has a genuine passion for hospitality. You will play an important role in developing our people, maintaining standards, resolving guest issues and helping the hotel achieve its commercial and operational goals. What you will be doing

  • Supporting the Operations Manager with administrative tasks such as invoice processing and ordering
  • Sales and Selling of the hotels events and function spaces responding to enquires and meeting guests in person
  • Ensuring consistently high standards of guest service
  • Managing guest feedback and resolving issues effectively
  • Supporting staff development, training and performance
  • Ensuring health & safety, licensing and operational procedures are followed
  • Participating the hotels duty management rota

    You will ideally have previous supervisory or management experience within a hotel or hospitality environment, with a strong understanding of guest service and hotel operations.
  • Most importantly, you will be a confident leader, a great communicator and someone who leads by example. You will be comfortable working in a busy environment, making decisions and getting involved wherever needed. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced hospitality supervisor or manager who is ready to take the next step in their career and gain broader operational experience within a unique training hotel environment.
