Job Details
We are seeking a livestock enthusiast, with a proven track record of calf rearing who would complete the team on a progressive farm near the picturesque village of Litcham.
The business, running with an emphasis on forage/grazing, comprises of two units each with approximately 340 Crossbred cows, block calving in the autumn period on each site.
There is a key area of responsibility with the calves from both units to be reared in the modern, purpose built, calf facilities on the original unit with milk feeding, weaning/rearing, record keeping and associated stockwork with all calves and the heifer replacements in particular.
There will be some seasonal stock work given the cows all calve in an autumn block. This will be with youngstock and the milking herds, as time with youngstock permits.
This position offers the benefit of a seasonal workload and hence much easier summer months, along with very good and spacious 2-bedroom accommodation with central heating, on farm, free of rent, rates and council tax, an excellent remuneration package and regular time off.
If you are looking for a challenging team role with a future, can offer a solid foundation of stockmanship, consistency and attention to detail, please contact James Picot on for more details.
