We are seeking an outstanding and visionary Assistant Headteacher - Behaviour and Inclusion Lead to join our Senior Leadership Team. Welbeck aims to provide the highest quality primary education located in Walker, Newcastle. Our school has been open and serving the community since 1914. The Role As Behaviour and Inclusion Lead, you will play a central role in shaping the strategic direction, ethos, and daily life of our school. You will lead our Inclusion, SEN, and Welfare teams to eliminate barriers to learning and raise educational outcomes across all key stages.,
- Strategic Leadership: Join the SLT to shape policy, contribute to the School Improvement Plan, and champion high standards and an inclusive ethos across the school community.
- Behaviour & Pastoral Care: Oversee day-to-day pupil behaviour, wellbeing, and mental health provision, ensuring consistent application of policy and high-quality supervision during all structured and non-structured times.
- Rigorous Quality Assurance: Design and execute dynamic monitoring schedules (learning walks, work scrutiny, data reviews, and pupil voice) to systematically evaluate provision, identify trends, and translate evidence into swift, impactful action.
- Inclusion & Barrier Removal: Work alongside our SENDCO and specialist teams to ensure quality-first teaching, effective intervention strategies, and targeted support for vulnerable groups and Pupil Premium recipients.
- Safeguarding & Support: Act as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), chair Vulnerable Children and Families meetings, and foster multi-agency partnerships.
- Exemplary Practice: Model high-quality classroom teaching, deliver targeted intervention groups, and lead staff professional development, coaching, and appraisals.
We are looking for an exceptional teacher and proven leader who brings: - A strong track record of exemplary teaching and successful middle or senior leadership in behaviour, pastoral care, or SEND.
- An analytical, evidence-led approach to quality assurance and data, with the ability to turn insights into decisive, standard-raising action.
- In-depth expertise in safeguarding (DSL qualified or willing to train), SEND, EAL, and strategies that effectively close attainment gaps.
- High emotional intelligence and exceptional communication skills to inspire staff, engage families, and build positive relationships with all pupils.
