Salary details: Grade 7 to 8, £28,598 - £38,221 (Pay award pending)

Contract Type: Permanent, Full time

Hours: 37 hours per week

Flexible working arrangements: Flexi-time available, core hours to be covered due to service requirements

This post operates under a Career Grade/Grading Assessment Scheme, with starting salary and progression through the grades being linked to experience, qualifications and level of work being undertaken. The post may be appointed at Grade 8 where the successful candidate holds, or is actively working towards, an appropriate Civil Engineering qualification (Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent) and can demonstrate substantial relevant experience and technical competence in flood risk and drainage asset management. (Duties and responsibilities would be reviewed if entering at Grade 8)

Duties include

A capable and enthusiastic Assistant Engineer is sought who can demonstrate abilities to support the Engineers and Senior Engineer, and a willingness to adapt and learn in this particular role. As a member of the Flood Risk Team, you will be involved in a variety of work areas, including flood risk inspections and assisting other members of the team in new design schemes and other duties of the Floods and Water Management Act.
