Full Job Description
The Assistant Facilities Manager plays a key role in delivering safe, compliant, and customer focused facilities services across site operations. This role supports service delivery, leads frontline teams, and works closely with clients to ensure high standards, smooth operations, and continuous improvement., Reporting to the Regional Facilities Manager, the Assistant Facilities Manager is responsible for the day to day management of facilities services, staff supervision, and statutory compliance. The role ensures operational delivery meets contractual requirements while maintaining excellent client relationships and a safe working environment. You will oversee site based teams, manage compliance activity, and contribute to service improvements across the contract., Manage compliance activity including audits, statutory checks, and health and safety documentation
- Act as a key point of contact for clients and attend regular client meetings
- Lead and supervise reception, cleaning, and facilities teams on site
- Line manage two receptionists, a porter, cleaning supervisor, cleaning staff, and the Site Manager
- Manage staff annual leave, sickness absence, and disciplinary processes
- Ensure services are delivered in line with contract standards and procedures
- Support operational planning including rostering and cover arrangements
- Monitor service performance and identify improvement opportunities
- Ensure customer queries and complaints are recorded and resolved appropriately
- Support contract mobilisation and business continuity planning
Background as a Facilities Coordinator, Office Manager, or similar role
- Strong people management skills with a confident leadership style
- Knowledge of facilities compliance, audits, and statutory requirements
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment
- Excellent communication skills with clients and internal teams
- Proactive approach to problem solving and service improvement
- Good organisational and administration skills
- Understanding of health and safety standards and safe systems of work
- Ability to work collaboratively with wider business functions, Disability Confident
