We are seeking an Assistant Facilities Manager to ensure the safe, compliant and competent delivery of facility services as part of a government contract. The role is accountable to the Regional Facilities Manager (RFM) and will involve the supervision and line management of site-based facility staff (Placemakers) across a defined geographic region., We are looking for a hands-on operational leader who will work closely with Placemaker teams to deliver an excellent workplace experience for customers. Acting as a key point of contact for local site customers, the role supports service excellence, contract delivery and continuous improvement across all facility services.,

  • Act as the primary point of contact for local site customers, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Deliver agreed service standards, outcomes and targets in line with the government contract.
  • Supervise, line manage and develop site-based facility teams (Placemakers).
  • Support the Regional Facilities Manager and contract management team to drive service excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure a safe, secure and compliant working environment, meeting all Health & Safety, COSHH and SOP requirements.
  • Manage effective rostering of engineering, cleaning and facilities teams to meet contractual coverage.
  • Control costs and deliver services in a commercially responsible manner, including materials, consumables, pay and agency labour.
  • Manage reporting, documentation, customer queries and complaints, and identify additional revenue and margin improvement opportunities.

    Supervisory experience within a facilities, engineering or cleaning services environment.
  • Strong organisational and supervisory skills, with the ability to work on own initiative while following management guidance.
  • Ability to understand how service outcomes impact contract success.
  • Experience managing business performance to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Proven ability to identify service improvements to meet customer and contract expectations.
  • Resilient problem-solver with the ability to manage operational challenges effectively.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience monitoring and reviewing individual and team performance against agreed targets.
