We are seeking an ambitious and passionate Assistant Curriculum Leader of Art and Design Technology to play a key role in shaping and delivering a high-quality, knowledge-rich Art and Design Technology curriculum at Noel Baker Academy. This is a pivotal opportunity for an excellent classroom practitioner who is ready to take the next step in subject leadership. Working closely with the Curriculum Leader for Art and Design Technology, you will support the strategic development of the department while modelling exceptional practice in teaching, assessment and curriculum design. Your work will directly impact the quality of education, outcomes for pupils and the professional growth of colleagues. You will contribute to curriculum planning, assessment systems and quality assurance, helping to ensure consistency, ambition and clarity across Art and Design Technology. Through collaboration, coaching and shared practice, you will support colleagues to continually refine their teaching and strengthen students' literacy, confidence and love of Art and Design Technology. This is a role for someone who believes deeply in the transformative power of education, has high expectations for all learners and is driven to secure excellent outcomes, particularly for disadvantaged pupils. - Be an excellent classroom practitioner with a strong track record of securing progress in Art and Design Technology
- Have a deep understanding of curriculum intent, sequencing and assessment in Art and Design Technology
- Demonstrate the ability to support, coach and mentor colleagues, including ECTs and trainee teachers
- Be confident in using data to identify underachievement and contribute to intervention planning
- Show strong organisational and communication skills, supporting clear systems and shared expectations within the department
- Be committed to inclusion, equity and high expectations for all pupils, including SEND, EAL and disadvantaged learners
