Become a valued member of our Buildings and Places team and contribute to the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of construction projects. You'll join a collaborative and supportive environment that encourages learning, development, and professional growth while delivering excellence for our clients. As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Cost Consultant, you will support the delivery of cost management and commercial services across a range of projects, working closely with experienced Quantity Surveyors and project teams. The role provides hands-on exposure to estimating, cost planning, procurement, and post-contract cost management, enabling you to build strong technical and commercial foundations. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals at the start of their career who are passionate about developing their expertise and progressing within the cost management profession.Your role

  • Support the preparation of cost estimates, cost plans, and tender documentation.
  • Undertake measurement, quantification and benchmarking activities.
  • Assist with procurement, tender analysis and recommendation reports.
  • Support senior teammates in valuation, change control, and cost reporting activities.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and cost databases.
  • Attend site inspections and assist with progress measurement.
  • Contribute to preparation of monthly client reports.
  • Ensure tasks are delivered in accordance with internal QA standards.
  • Build knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g., NEC, JCT).
  • Work collaboratively with project teams and maintain positive client relationships.

    Growing technical proficiency in cost management fundamentals.
  • Good numeracy, analytical ability and attention to detail.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to follow instructions and manage tasks eƯectively.
  • Willingness to learn and develop professional expertise.
  • Studying towards or recently completed a QS degree (or equivalent).
  • Developing experience in measurement/cost software is an advantage.
