Full Job Description

You'll be based in a 45-bed Extra Care service supporting people aged 55+ who live independently in self-contained flats, including individuals with varying needs such as dementia. As an Assistant Cook, you'll play a vital role in ensuring residents enjoy nutritious, home-style meals tailored to their needs, while creating positive and meaningful mealtime experiences. What You'll Be Doing

  • Preparing, cooking, reheating and serving nutritious and delicious meals, including special diets
  • Supporting the full mealtime process: ordering, storage, preparation, cooking, serving, and cleaning
  • Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, safety, and infection control
  • Creating a friendly and engaging dining experience by interacting with residents
  • Providing support at mealtimes with dignity and respect where required

    We're looking for a passionate and proactive Assistant Cook to join our warm and dedicated catering team within our Extra Care housing scheme in Gorseinon. 23 hours per week (10:00am-2:00pm, Sunday to Friday) This is your opportunity to be part of a highly respected extra care service, known for its compassion, quality, and resident-focused approach. If you have professional kitchen experience, love creating great food and making a difference in people's lives, we'd love to hear from you. An NVQ Level 2 in Food Hygiene is desirable, but we'll get you trained straight away!, Experience working in a professional kitchen environment
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene (desirable - full training provided)
  • Good IT, literacy, and numeracy skills
  • Strong teamwork and customer service skills
