Full Job Description
- Assisting the Head Chef and kitchen team with daily food preparation and cooking.
- Preparing ingredients and dishes to a consistently high standard.
- Supporting the chefs during busy lunch and dinner services.
- Ensuring food is prepared and presented according to the restaurant's standards.
- Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and kitchen organisation.
- Monitoring stock levels, storing ingredients correctly and minimising food waste.
- Working closely with the kitchen team to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
A good level of spoken and understood English is essential, to communicate effectively with the kitchen team, understand instructions and follow recipes.- Previous experience working in a professional restaurant kitchen is essential.
- Reliability and punctuality - someone who consistently turns up on time and takes their responsibilities seriously.
- Long-term commitment - we are looking for someone who wants a stable position rather than temporary or short-term work.
- A genuine interest in cooking and a willingness to learn and develop their skills.
- A strong work ethic and the ability to remain calm, organised and efficient during busy services.
- Good knowledge of basic cooking techniques, food preparation and kitchen hygiene.
- A positive attitude, flexibility and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and pride in producing consistently good food.
- The ability to follow instructions while also showing initiative and working independently when required.
