Assistant Chef

We have an exciting opportunity where you can truly make a difference! We're looking for a confident and passionate Assistant Chef to create delicious and nutritious meals for our valued tenants in our Extra care service Ty Llwynderw in Maesteg Bridgend. As Assistant Chef you will play a key role in the catering team, supporting to make mealtimes something for the residents to really look forward to. This is a 12 month fixed term, part time (32 hour) position, working 8am-5pm on a rolling rota with every other weekend off. • Great communicator - You'll work closely with the Service Manager, food service assistants, and tenants. Being friendly and approachable is a must!
• Kitchen experience - You will need some experience working in a professional fresh-food kitchen and hold a basic catering & first aid qualifications (QCF/NVQ Level 2 or equivalent).
• Organised and detail-focused - From chopping and mixing to paperwork, you'll handle menu planning, stock control, HACCP records, food hygiene compliance, and budgeting. You'll need to take pride in keeping the kitchen spotless and understand the importance of Health & Safety and Food Safety.
• Team player - Positive, supportive, and inclusive attitude towards colleagues and tenants.

• Annual salary of £25,056 FTE
