Full Job Description
As Assessment Group Manager, you'll lead a component team responsible for the production of high-stakes IELTS test content. You'll ensure content is developed, reviewed and delivered to the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and compliance, supporting a product that plays a critical role in education, migration, and employment globally. Alongside leading your team, you'll act as a subject matter expert, shaping how test content is produced and continuously improved. You'll work closely with colleagues across Assessment, Research and Data functions, while also contributing to conversations with external stakeholders including regulators, ministries, and recognising organisations. You'll operate in a complex, high-volume environment, where decisions you make today can affect live test content used around the world, requiring sound judgement, precision and accountability. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing a specialist team delivering test content production
- Overseeing quality assurance across content development and results processes
- Ensuring content meets required standards for accuracy, validity, and compliance
- Managing risks associated with test content production and security
- Improving processes, workflows, and production efficiency at component level
- Working with external assessment specialists, including recruitment and training oversight
- Contributing to cross-functional planning and decision-making across IELTS Delivery
- Representing assessment expertise in internal and external forums

Essential - Demonstrable expertise in language assessment theory and practice
- Experience of managing or leading high-performing teams delivering complex outputs
- Experience working in high-stakes or highly regulated environments
- Experience overseeing or contributing to content production, evaluation, or quality assurance processes
- Ability to interpret and work with data (quantitative and qualitative) to inform decisions
- Strong planning, prioritisation, and decision-making skills in complex environments
- Experience improving or managing processes, workflows, or projects Desirable
- Background in English language teaching or a related field
- Knowledge of the IELTS ecosystem, including test design and delivery
