Full Job Description
This role offers a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of education, mentoring, careers, and relationship-building. You will lead and coordinate the Aspire programme locally at Habs Elstree, while also working closely with the Haberdashers' Company and colleagues across the wider family of schools. In doing so, you will help strengthen connections between education and the professional world, creating experiences that can genuinely transform students' aspirations and opportunities. We are looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive, and people-focused; someone who enjoys building relationships, creating opportunities, and bringing programmes to life. You might already work in education, careers, outreach, partnerships, alumni engagement, events, or programme coordination, and be excited by the chance to work in a dynamic school environment with a strong sense of purpose. This Aspire Coordinator role has been funded by Haberdashers' Company to support the continued growth and long-term success of the programme across the Schools. The successful candidate will play a key role in:
- Leading and developing the Aspire mentoring programme across Habs Elstree
- Recruiting, supporting, and engaging an inspiring network of mentors
- Encouraging and sustaining student participation in the programme
- Coordinating mentoring events, communications, and engagement activities
- Working collaboratively with Futures colleagues across both Schools
- Building partnerships with the Haberdashers' Company and external organisations
- Ensuring the programme continues to grow as a meaningful and impactful part of the Habs experience This is a role for someone who believes in the power of relationships, networks, and opportunity - and who wants to help young people develop the confidence, insight, and ambition to thrive in an ever-changing world. As part of the Futures team, you will join a forward-thinking and collaborative environment focused on preparing students for futures not yet imagined. You will also become part of the wider Haberdashers' community: a network of schools, professionals, alumni, and partners committed to education, social impact, and opportunity. The role is 30 hours per week, term time plus four weeks, with some flexibility required for occasional evening events or mentor engagement activities. If you are excited by the idea of helping young people build confidence, connections, and clarity about their futures, we would love to hear from you.
- A competitive salary
- The opportunity to work in a vibrant, ambitious, and supportive school community alongside exceptional colleagues who are deeply committed to excellence and to one another
- Generous private pension scheme through Aegon with substantial employer contributions
- Life assurance and income protection cover, providing financial security and support should you be unable to work due to long-term illness
- Access to the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), offering confidential support, guidance, and advice
- Extensive professional development and training opportunities within a culture that values growth and continuous learning
- Free lunch and refreshments during the working day
- Free onsite parking and access to the Schools' extensive coach network
- Free access to excellent sports facilities, including the gym, swimming pool, and fitness classes
- Wellbeing initiatives and programmes, including yoga, mindfulness sessions, and health checks
- Access to an online GP service, providing quick and convenient healthcare advice
- Access to Vivup, the staff benefits platform offering discounts, financial advice, and wellbeing resources
- Cycle-to-Work Scheme and sustainable travel initiatives, including Octopus Electric Vehicles
Habs has been awarded Independent School of the Year 2025, with Haberdashers' Elstree Schools receiving both the award for Outstanding Educational Partnerships and the overall top accolade of Independent School of the Year 2025. This recognition reflects our long-term commitment to social impact and the deep, sustained collaborations we continue to build with our state sector partners. It is an exciting time to join our community. At Haberdashers' Elstree Schools, we believe education should prepare young people not just for exams or university, but for meaningful, impactful futures. Through our ambitious Futures programme and our connection to the wider Haberdashers' Company network, we are creating opportunities that help students understand themselves, explore possibilities, and confidently step into the wider world. We are now looking for an Aspire Coordinator to join our Futures team in a newly created and exciting role that will help shape the next chapter of this work. The Aspire programme connects students across the Haberdashers' family of schools with professional mentors drawn from industry, alumni networks, and the wider Haberdashers' community. Sitting at the heart of our Futures provision, Aspire gives Sixth Form students access to meaningful one-to-one mentoring, helping them build confidence, develop professional skills, and broaden their understanding of future pathways.
