Full Job Description
Are you passionate about providing excellent customer service and helping people find the information and support they need? We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Ask Brighton Adviser to join the University's student enquiry service that is often the first point of contact for students, staff and visitors. As an Adviser, you'll respond to a wide range of enquiries, providing information and guidance and helping students access the services they need. You'll work across face-to-face, online, telephone and email channels, using your judgement to respond to enquiries that may be complex or sensitive, connecting students with specialist teams when needed and working collaboratively across the University to help students find the right support. You'll play an important role in supporting students at different points throughout their university journey, from arriving and settling in to navigating challenges along the way, helping them access the information and support they need.
- Has experience of customer-facing and administrative work who communicates confidently and sensitively and enjoys helping others
- Is organised, adaptable and resourceful
- Has curiosity and initiative to build knowledge, find information and develop connections across the University, using that knowledge to support students effectively
- Can recognise when an enquiry requires further support or specialist advice
- Has a flexible approach to working across the University's City, Moulsecoomb and Falmer campuses in line with service needs
This is a full-time (37 hours), permanent campus-based, student-facing role and is not suitable for remote working. We welcome applications from people wanting to job share. Further details: The University is committed to an inclusive environment which embraces equality and diversity in our working, learning, research and teaching environment.
