Full Job Description

We are currently recruiting for experienced and compassionate ASD Specialist Learning Support Workers to support children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder within specialist and inclusive educational settings.

This is an excellent opportunity for professionals who are passionate about supporting neurodiverse learners and creating positive, structured learning environments that promote independence, emotional wellbeing, and meaningful engagement.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Support students with communication, emotional regulation, sensory processing, and social interaction needs
- Assist in delivering structured learning activities and interventions in line with EHCP outcomes and individual support plans
- Promote positive behaviour support strategies and reduce barriers to learning
- Build consistent, trusting relationships with pupils to support confidence and engagement
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, families, and external professionals
- Adapt learning materials and classroom environments to meet sensory and communication needs
- Encourage independence, life skills, and participation across the curriculum
- Maintain accurate records of learner progress, wellbeing, and daily support, If you are passionate about supporting autistic learners and helping them achieve their full potential, we would love to hear from you.

Experience supporting children or young people with ASD and additional needs
- A strong understanding of autism-friendly approaches and inclusive practice
- Knowledge of sensory regulation, visual supports, structured teaching, and behaviour support strategies
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A calm, patient, and proactive approach
- An enhanced DBS on the update service, or the willingness to apply for a new one
- Experience working within schools, specialist provisions, or alternative education settings is desirable
