Arts Therapist (Music/Art/Drama/Play/Dance Movement)

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and qualified Arts Therapist to join our Arts Therapies and Child Psychotherapy Team (ATCP).

As well as maintaining a clinical caseload you will also be required to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team of Speech & Language Therapists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Teachers, Drama therapists, Music Therapists and Art Psychotherapists.

The role will be based in Motspur Park (KT3).

The successful candidate will be responsible for attending departmental meetings and peer supervision sessions, report writing, arranging and delivering training, and communicating with parents and external services where necessary. The successful candidate will be expected to work within the current departmental guidelines and protocols at all times and will be fully supported in their role by the Arts Therapies team coordinators.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Confidence, enthusiasm and a passion for the arts therapies within education.
  • The ability to build good working relationships with children, teachers, parents and carers.
  • The confidence to deliver individual and small group work to students with speech, language and communication needs.
  • Experience of working with children with Special Education Needs (SEN), particularly children with autism.
  • Completed all relevant training and qualifications and hold current accreditation.
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience of managing a caseload across a wide range of ages (3 - 18 years).
  • A good awareness of professional and therapeutic boundaries.
  • Excellent reading, writing and numeracy skills.
