Artist-in-Residence

Lincoln Minster School is seeking an inspiring and creative Artist-in-Residence (Art & Design) to enhance and develop the School's vibrant artistic culture and co-curricular arts provision. Working closely with the Head of Art, the successful candidate will play a key role in enriching students' creative experiences through artistic practice, workshops, exhibitions, projects, and portfolio development.

This exciting role is ideally suited to a practising artist, designer, maker, textile artist, illustrator, sculptor, printmaker, photographer, or creative practitioner who is passionate about sharing their expertise with young people. The successful candidate will help foster creativity, curiosity, and artistic confidence across all age groups while contributing to the rich cultural life of the School.

The Artist-in-Residence will provide students with opportunities to engage with professional artistic practice, develop new skills, explore a range of disciplines, and gain insight into creative careers. Candidates are encouraged to bring their own artistic vision and specialism to the role, proposing innovative projects and initiatives that will inspire students and further strengthen the profile of Art and Design at Lincoln Minster School.

Whilst Art is already a thriving part of School life, this residency offers an opportunity to build on existing strengths and ensure Lincoln Minster School continues to be a leading destination for creativity and artistic excellence in Lincolnshire.

The role is anticipated to be part-time and term-time only, with a significant focus on the lunchtime co-curricular programme (1.15pm to 2.15pm). However, we welcome proposals from candidates on how they might shape and deliver the residency around their own professional practice and commitments. The role is 15 hours per week and is fixed-term for one academic year.

The successful candidate should be willing to contribute to occasional exhibitions, events, workshops, and enrichment activities outside normal school hours.

The start date for this role is as soon as possible.
