Full Job Description

Art Technician - Term Time + 2 Weeks Location: Haberdashers' Girls' School Hours: 37.5 per week, Term Time (35 weeks) + 2 additional weeks Do you have an eye for detail, a love of art, and the practical skills to support a thriving creative department? We are looking for a dedicated Art Technician to play a central role in supporting the delivery of outstanding art education at Haberdashers' Girls' School. This is a hands-on, highly rewarding role where no two days are the same. From preparing materials for exciting student projects to maintaining equipment and showcasing pupils' work across the school, your contributions will be vital in helping young artists express themselves and flourish. What you'll do:

  • Support the Art Department by preparing and clearing materials and equipment for lessons
  • Provide in-class assistance during practical sessions
  • Help with clay recycling, kiln firing, screen coating, and maintenance of art equipment
  • Organise stock and supplies, place orders, and manage inventory records
  • Ensure workspaces are clean, safe, and inspiring
  • Mount and display artwork across the school, including helping set up our annual art exhibition
  • Liaise with other departments and external providers to support creative events and exhibitions
  • Play a key role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our students
  • This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong practical skills, good organisational instincts, and a genuine enthusiasm for art and creativity. You don't need to be an artist-but you do need to love working in a creative environment and enjoy supporting young people. Who you are:
