Full Job Description
These flexible opportunities are ideal for Art Teachers who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different secondary school settings. You will be supporting pupils in Welwyn Garden City and the surrounding areas, delivering creative and engaging Art lessons across a range of year groups.
- Deliver engaging Art lessons using provided plans
- Teach a range of techniques including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and mixed media
- Encourage creativity, experimentation, and individual expression
- Support pupils in developing technical skills and confidence in their artwork
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of mixed-ability learners
- Assess and record pupil progress where required
- Contribute to departmental activities during longer-term placements
- Promote a positive and inspiring creative learning environment, are subject to safeguarding checks in line with the DfE's statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education, including reference checks and an Enhanced DBS check either registered on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent - Strong subject knowledge in Art and Design
- Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire pupils creatively
- Adaptable across different year groups and school environments
- Good organisation and time-management skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
