Area Relief Officer

This role requires flexibility to travel, as duties will cover various DWP sites within the region (East Midlands).

• A full UK driving licence is required.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for DWP staff, visitors, and property.
• Conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify potential security threats.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies or suspicious situations.
• Liaise with local law enforcement and emergency services as required.
• Deliver a high standard of customer service and assist staff and visitors with any security-related matters.
• Perform routine security checks and submit incident reports as appropriate.
• Comply with Mitie and DWP security policies, procedures, and regulations.
Security and Health & Safety Responsibilities
• Identify and immediately report any health and safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
• Remain vigilant to any threats or changes within the work environment and take the appropriate action to minimise the risk of disruption, loss, or damage.
• Exercise sound judgement and initiative by immediately escalating situations that appear to be escalating or threatening.
• Maintain professional conduct when faced with difficult situations and challenging individuals.
• Maintain accurate, detailed notebook entries as soon as possible following any incident, which will be used as part of the incident reporting process.
• Adhere to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
• Contact emergency services and the Communications Centre to report all incidents.
  
  Previous security experience
• SIA licence required; Door Supervisor licence preferred
• Full UK driving licence required
